It’s not every day you log on to facebook and see a picture of a food network star filming in Somersworth but that’s exactly what happened to me earlier today. So I did some poking, prodding and investigating around town and confirmed that the star in question had been filming at a local eatery.
That star was Guy Fieri and he was stood outside Forty Five Market Street Bakery & Cafe, in the car that to anyone who watched the show Dinners, Drive-in’s and Dives, is a familiar sight. (As I didn’t take the picture it’s not mine to reproduce and I’m not unfamiliar with copyright laws.)
I did share the picture/original post on SomersworthNow’s facebook page though and it was there it was confirmed that Guy had in fact been shooting the show in the Bakery today. Local Councilor Denis Messier, had been a guest during the filming and was told that the piece was expected to air on Food Network in about 2 months time.
This was later confirmed on Instagram when the co-owners of the bakery, Cheryl Arsenault and Celeste Gingras posted several pictures of the days filming. According to their posts it was an awesome day and one they won’t soon forget.
This month marks the 11th year that the pair have been located at their Market Street bakery and the business has grown in leaps and bounds. Anyone who has ever talked to either lady knows that they are dedicated to their craft and love what they do. In fact between them they have over 75 years of cooking experience.
I’ll keep you updated as I get more information of course. In the meantime if you’ve never eaten a scone from Forty Five Market Street Bakery, they come highly recommended by me. In fact I might just have to get me one or maybe two tomorrow…
